Originally from Lithuania, Kotryna moved to London in 2013 looking for new experiences and a little adventure. She achieved a BA in Project Management in 2012 alongside working for several music venues.
After realising hair was her passion, she started looking for quality and a like-minded aesthetic ethos and discovered this at Radio. The rest is history. Kotryna was the first person to graduate from the Radio Academy, without having any previous education in hair.
In her own words
“After six unbelievable years with Radio I am still continuing to expand my knowledge and grow meaningful relationships with my clients. The most powerful thing for me is to see my client feeling beautiful, confident and empowered.
Suitability is everything, I often ignore rules so that I can make sure clients leave with a haircut they can easily maintain at home. You’ll often hear me talking about “silhouette”, “urban-chic” styles and making things “zhuzh”. My inspiration often comes from the past and history. I am fascinated how 1920s jazzy bobs can be transferred into today’s East London buzz, and look so incredible.”
Amongst the artists that excite me most are Guido Palau who’s the Global creative director for Redken and Hiro+Mari team from Salon87 in Brooklyn, NY.
